Think night on the town meets playing in the mud. Every 2nd Friday of the month join us for a late night clay-making, dance-partying, gallery-hopping good time. Enjoy 45 minute sessions in our studio where a teaching artist shows you how to build clay figures. While you’re waiting for your class you can enjoy music from our guest DJ “Itchy”, peruse the galleries or sip on drink specials at the cash bar. This month also features a dance performance by Same Planet Different World.

Co-Prosperity Sphere
3219 S Morgan St.

Geeks, nerds, dorks — chances are, you didn’t attend your high school prom. During college, you were so focused on your engineering/math/science degree that other humans barely registered within your domain space. This is your chance to rectify your oversight without yielding to irrational forces of social pressure, and perhaps enrich your symbolic-semantic internodal linkages, as well! (okay, that was actually gibberish)

There will be music, dancing, and some sort of contest based on physical appearance, but we promise that it won’t be excruciating or embarassing! Local tinkerers will bring their latest DIY and hacked gadgets — stuff that you WISH you had made for your High School Science Fair.

It’s true what they say. The grass is always greener at the MCA — especially during Tuesdays on the Terrace. Join us in our terraced garden for free live jazz concerts every Tuesday evening through September 22.

For a more casual evening, bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic on the sculpture garden lawn with classic burgers and hot dogs from our outdoor grill. Cold beverages, wine, and seasonal cocktails are available from the cash bar on the lower terrace of the sculpture garden.
